On 29 January 2024, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) mounted two separate operations which saw the arrest of two men and one woman, all Singaporeans, for suspected drug trafficking offences. About 2,602g
of cannabis, 346 tablets and 498g ‘Ecstasy’, 842g of ‘Ice’, 46g of ketamine, 11g of cocaine, 160 Erimin-5 tablets, 107 LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) stamps and five bottles of liquid suspected to contain GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate)
were seized. The seizure of about 2,602g of cannabis and 842g of ‘Ice’ can feed the addiction of about 850 abusers for a week.
2. In the late afternoon of 29 January, CNB officers intercepted a car along Havelock Road and arrested the driver of the car, a 35-year-old man for suspected drug trafficking offences. A search of the car recovered about
955g of cannabis, 166g of ‘Ecstasy’, 138g of ‘Ice’, 24g of ketamine, 160 Erimin-5 tablets, 107 LSD stamps and five bottles of liquid suspected to contain GHB. The haul of drugs recovered from the car is estimated to be
worth about $118,000.

3. In another operation in the same afternoon, CNB officers raided a residential unit in the vicinity of Bedok Reservoir Road and arrested a 35-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman within the unit. A search of the unit
recovered about 1,647g of cannabis, 704g of ‘Ice’, 346 tablets and 332g ‘Ecstasy’, 22g of ketamine and 11g of cocaine. The drugs recovered from within the unit is estimated to be worth about $352,000.

4. Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug,
offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. If a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 250g of methamphetamine or 500g of cannabis, he or she
may face the mandatory death penalty.
5. Investigations into the drug activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing.
