PDE Talks and Exhibitions

School Assembly Talk

Introduction

Preventive Drug Education (PDE) remains a key tenet in CNB’s mission to enforce, educate and engage Singaporeans for a drug-free Singapore. Our PDE programmes seek to empower our people, especially the young ones, with the knowledge of harms of drugs, so that they do not fall prey to drug abuse. In our effort to extend our outreach to students and youths, we seek schools' continued support in this worthy endeavour, given the primary role of schools and educators in moulding the lives of children.

Programmes Highlights

Sharing Session

Sharing sessions are conducted in small groups. This allows CNB officers to engage the target audience at a more intimate level to facilitate in-depth conversations. Upon request, ex-drug abusers may also be invited to candidly share their past experience with the audience.

Talk for Parents/Caregivers

Parents and caregivers have great influence in the lives of young people, serving as role models, mentors and other sources of guidance and support, in shaping the attitudes and behaviours of our youths. Talks for parents/caregivers comprise the global and local drug situations, legislations, harms of drugs, tell-tale signs, myths about drug abuse, tips on how to start meaningful conversations with youths, etc.

Workplace Talk

Workplace talks aim to educate employers and staff on the global and local drug situations, legislations, harms of drugs, tell-tale signs, myths about drug abuse, refusal tips, etc. so that they are equipped with the knowledge to keep a look out for their colleagues and their loved ones safe from the dangers of drugs.

Static Exhibition

Along with the PDE talks and sharing sessions, CNB also offers an exhibition featuring mock drugs and bite-sized information to help the audience internalise the anti-drug message.
