Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested 68 suspected drug offenders in an island-wide anti-drug operation from 21 to 26 January 2024. A total of about 144g of heroin, 112g of 'Ice' 348g of cannabis, 0.8g
of ketamine, 18g of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), 13 'Ecstasy' tablets and two Erimin-5 tablets were seized. The drugs have an estimated street value of about $63,000. The youngest arrested in this island-wide operation was a 15-year-old local
student.
2. Some of the areas covered during this island-wide operation included Ang Mo Kio, Macpherson, Pasir Ris and Woodlands.
Two Singaporeans arrested for suspected drug offences on 21 January 2024
3. In the evening of 21 January, CNB officers arrested a 32-year-old Singaporean man and a 19-year-old Singaporean woman in a residential unit in the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio
Avenue 3 for suspected drug offences. Forced entry was effected as the occupants had refused to comply with the lawful orders of the officers to open the door. A search was conducted and about 154g of cannabis, 5g of ‘Ice’, 0.5g of ketamine,
fragments of ‘Ecstasy’ and various drug paraphernalia were seized from within the unit.
Arrest of a Singaporean couple for suspected drug offences on 23 January 2024
4. In the morning of 23 January, acting on information received, CNB officers raided a residential unit in the vicinity of Pasir Ris Drive 4 and arrested a Singaporean couple, a 42-year-old suspected drug trafficker and his
39-year-old wife, for suspected drug offences therein. About 109g of cannabis, 1g of ‘Ice’ and various drug paraphernalia were recovered from within the unit, while about 2g of cannabis and 1g of ‘Ice’ were recovered from the
woman’s belongings.
Singaporean man arrested for suspected drug trafficking offences on 25 January 2024

In the afternoon of 25 January, CNB officers arrested a 59-year-old Singaporean man at the void deck of a residential block in the vicinity of Bedok North Street 3 for suspected drug trafficking offences. The man put up a violent struggle and necessary force was used to subdue him. Officers conducted a search and about 109g of heroin, 32g of ‘Ice’, two ‘Ecstasy’ tablets and various drug paraphernalia were recovered.

6. Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. If a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 15g of diamorphine or “pure heroin”, he or she may face the mandatory death penalty.
7. Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
