Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested 130 suspected drug offenders in an island-wide anti-drug operation from 14 to 25 August 2023. During the operation, about 1,318g of heroin, 2,535g of cannabis, 486g
of ‘Ice’, 188g of ketamine, 62g and 311 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, 306g of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), 213 Erimin-5 tablets, 51 LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) stamps, 11 vape devices containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC),
three bottles of methadone, six bottles of GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate), and cash amounting to $1,503.05, were seized. These drugs have an estimated street value of about $453,800. The youngest arrested in this island-wide operation were a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy.
2. Some of the areas covered during this island-wide operation included Kallang, Marine Parade, Pasir Ris and Woodlands.

3. In the afternoon of 14 August, acting on information received, CNB officers arrested eight Singaporeans, including the two teenagers aged 15 and 17 in a residential unit in the vicinity of Woodlands Street 81 for
suspected drug offences. The other suspects were aged between 37 and 59. Forced entry was effected as the occupants had disregarded the lawful orders of the officers to open the door. The two teenagers climbed onto the ledge from the bedroom window
of the unit on the second floor in a bid to evade arrest but CNB officers were able to persuade them to return to safety. The other suspects put up a violent struggle during the arrest and had to be subdued by officers. Officers searched the unit
and found about 1g of ‘Ice’, an ‘Ecstasy’ tablet and various drug paraphernalia. About 7g of ‘Ice’ and drug paraphernalia were also seized from the ground beneath the unit.

4. CNB officers raided a residential unit in the vicinity of Ghim Moh Road in the evening of 23 August, and arrested a 24-year-old Singaporean man and a 19-year-old Singaporean woman. A search was conducted, and about
2,485g of cannabis, 269g of ‘Ice’, 62g of ‘Ecstasy’, 288g of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), 100 Erimin-5 tablets, 51 LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) stamps, 11 vape devices containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and four
bottles of GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate), were seized. A 29-year-old Singaporean man was later arrested in the same vicinity for suspected drug offences.

5. Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. If a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 15g of pure heroin (diamorphine) or 250g of methamphetamine or 500g of cannabis, he or she may face the mandatory death penalty.
6. Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
