112 Arrested in Island-Wide Anti-Drug Operation

       The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested 112 suspected drug offenders in an island-wide anti-drug operation from 14 to 25 October 2024.  A total of about 1.7kg of ‘Ice’, 739g of heroin, 215g of cannabis, 16 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets and six Erimin-5 tablets were seized.  The seized drugs have an estimated street value of about $296,000.  The youngest arrested in this island-wide operation was a 16-year-old girl, for suspected drug abuse.

2.     Some of the areas covered during this island-wide operation included Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Clementi, Eunos, Jurong, Tampines.

Large quantity of ‘Ice’ seized

3.     On 14 October, before dawn, CNB officers raided a residential unit in the vicinity of Bedok South Avenue 3 and arrested a 42-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man within the unit. Both are Singaporeans.  From within the unit, a total of about 1.7kg of ‘Ice’, 69g of heroin and 17g of cannabis were recovered.

Husband & wife arrested

4.     On 16 October, CNB officers raided two residential units of the same block in the vicinity of Eunos Crescent.  In the first raid, officers arrested a 37-year-old female and a 55-year-old male within the unit.  Both are husband and wife and are Singaporeans.  About 32g of ‘Ice’, seven grammes of heroin, six Erimin-5 tablets and some ‘Ecstasy’ tablets were recovered from this raid.  A 10-year-old and a 12-year-old, the couple’s children, were inside the unit during the raid.  The children have since been placed in the care of their next-of-kin. 

5.     In the raid on the second residential unit, officers effected forced entry after the occupants within, a 25-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, refused to comply with lawful orders to grant officers access into the unit.  Both Singaporeans were arrested, and a small amount of heroin was recovered from within the unit.  

6.       Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
