Anti-Drug Abuse Advocacy (ADA) Programme
Tapping on positive influencers to steer youths away from drugs, a youth Anti-drug Abuse Advocacy (ADA) programme was started by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in Singapore to develop advocates in peer circles. Youths who sign up for the programme will gain an understanding of the long-term social impact of illicit drugs and Singapore’s holistic drug control strategy. As part of experiential learning, they will also visit places such as the CNB Heritage Gallery and local halfway houses to hear first-hand accounts from ex-abusers on how hard it is to kick the drug habit. The experience enables them to correct misconceptions of drug use among their circle of friends, and advocate for a drug-free Singapore.
