3 men arrested in drug bust – 1kg of Ketamine seized

Two suspected drug couriers and one suspected drug trafficker were arrested in an operation on 21 January 2010. Approximately 1kg of Ketamine, 700 grammes of heroin no. 3 and 50 grammes of ‘Ice’ with a total street value of more than S$162,000 were seized.

On 21 January 2010 at about 2240 hours, acting on information received, CNB officers stopped the two suspects. They were on a motorcycle which was entering Woodlands Checkpoint. Officers conducted a search on the suspects and vehicle and found packets of substances containing a total of 1kg of Ketamine, 700 grammes of heroin no. 3 and 50 grammes of ‘Ice’.

The rider and his pillion were arrested on the spot.

A follow-up operation was conducted immediately and a third suspect was arrested along BKE near Woodlands Checkpoint. All are male Malaysians.

The trio will be investigated for importation of controlled drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Act. If convicted, all three may face the death penalty.
